Chris Nunn

Chris completed his medical training at Otago Medical School and then traveled to the USA to undertake an interventional fellowship for 2 ½ yrs at the University of Florida.
He returned to the Waikato in 1994 to advance the interventional program there and quickly introduced acute infarct angioplasty and stenting to Waikato Hospital. This continues to be a major ongoing interest particularly focused on the acute infarct patient both within the hospital and in the community. He was integral in establishing Community thrombolysis in the Coromandel region with subsequent expansion to the wider Waikato district.
Over the years he has taken on various roles within the Australia and New Zealand Cardiac Society and the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and currently chairs the New Zealand Subcommittee for Cardiology Training and the Interventional Working group for New Zealand. In 2016 he took over the role of Director for the Department of Cardiology at Waikato Hospital.
For many years he has also worked as a clinical advisor for ACC.
